Workplace Bullying- Tell them to Stop

October 14, 2010

I HAVE NEVER HAD TO ASK FOR HELP LIKE THIS:

My employer asked me to falsify info 4 work (my on-going job). The reason I got in writing: “There is no reason. Do what you’re asked.” “If you can’t do this, we’ll end your stipend- Your choice.” This bullying has gone too far. Please email:

slipman@memphis.edu or president.uofm@memphis.edu and tell them to stop. please tell william.arnold@tbr.edu in Diversity at Board of Regents * Please send to your lists. They put me in a public room with someone observing me. My workspace is no bigger than a computer. I got hurt at work and they wouldn’t file an incident report. They are making me sick and ignore my doctor’s written orders.

Mr. Arnold-

I am writing to you at 6 AM because I cannot sleep and I am up vomiting. I now have stomach problems as well as further psychological anxiety from distress The University of Memphis has been purposely putting me through.

The University of Memphis is mentally abusing me and disregarding my condition and putting me in the way of physical harm- and it is coming from the Affirmative Action office and the president’s office.

They are asking me to falsify information for work and now threatening me in writing again.

I am a minority female PhD student from California. I moved her to get a degree and instead I am getting abused.

They already wrongfully terminated me once and I have emails to prove it, then reinstated me because they figured out that it’s a federal crime- retaliation.

Participants have been up the line: Vice Provost Karen West, Dean Richard Ranta. Shirley Raines is doing nothing.

I have written evidence that this is not the first time they have discriminated like this. There has been a precedent with another student like me also.

They are trying to force me to work in a noisy public computer area with a work space the size of a computer, with someone observing me. I got hurt at work once and they did not care and would not fill out an incident report. This is all retaliation also, yet they just won’t stop.

This is unethical and harmful what they are doing to me on a daily basis.

Senator Lautenberg of NJ is writing a bill to stop federal funding to schools that bully people like this.

I implore you to put an end to this.

Michelle has reviewed your medical information to date, and there is nothing in that that prevents you from working in that room.

I don’t know what incident report you are talking about, but, again, you need to do the work and log your hours. If you are unable to do the assignment, we will have no choice but to end your stipend. Your choice.

I do not want to be blamed for university property. There is a large permanent sign saying NO WATER.

My doctor put in writing to not work in certain environments. I am able to work remotely.

Is it an engineer’s job to sit and lift books out of boxes for me?

Is anyone going to sign the incident report?

I need a reason and training for why I am putting inflated values on things.

Thank you.

Sheri,

The reason does matter. I still find it unethical to not be honest about the actual prices of university assets considering their conditions which have been documented.

If everyone has been asked to jump off an unethical bridge, it doesn’t mean I should do the same.

I have a right to question what you ask me to do and not just do it blindly with no reason provided.

Who are these others and what are these similar projects? Perhaps one/some of them could train me properly.

Then why not put the actual values?
